Flood Information

This page is dedicated to those who are still in the process of flood recovery. This is an information only page. We do not specifically endorse, and cannot guarantee the resources listed. We have moved all the information from the home page and added some updated information.

It is our understanding that the deadlines to apply for FEMA assistance and SBA loans have past. There are still other options for homeowners, so please see below, follow links, and read.

If you come across useful information that can be put on this page, please forward what you find to admin@somersetfarms.org. You may also submit information via the Contact Us page

Some information recently provided by one of our homeowners:
For folks that need help there is a wonderful wonderful organization that is helping folks that are "having a difficult time". The organization is River Park Cares. They have a web site that has great resource information. River Park Cares also coordinate with volunteers from Cross Point; The contact information for this group is a married couple Marc and Shannon Shaffer.

For folks in the neighborhood that have children in public school- MNPS has a program to provide school uniforms for the children that have been displaced by the flood. When Marc Shaffer found out that our daughter's school clothing was destroyed by the flood, he contacted a social worker with Metro. The social worker called and told me that they would be sending school clothing to my daughter's school. With all that we are spending to repair our house, our funds will not have to be spent to purchase school clothing. However, I would not have known this unless the MNPS social worker had been contacted.

I am sure there are children in Somerset Farms that attend public school that were affected by the flood and could use school uniforms.

The website address for River Park Cares is www.riverparkcares.us.
